22 Mar 2018 : Runcorn Linnets draft in Prescot trio before deadline

Runcorn Linnets signed three Evo-Stik Northern Premier League players ahead of today's 5pm transfer deadline.

All arrive on dual registration from Prescot Cables, who are in the shake-up for promotion to the NPL Premier Division.

They are defender Joe Herbert, attacking midfielder Dan Burns and Andy Scarisbrick, who plays in central midfield.

Dan joined Cables in pre-season from Radcliffe Borough after serving Skelmersdale United.

Joe, who arrived at Prescot from Chester FC (where he had been youth team captain) and Andy scored the goals which helped Prescot to a 2-0 victory over Southport in last season's Liverpool Senior Cup final.

Andy won Cables' August Player of the Month award this season, starring in an unfamiliar right back role.

The incoming trio will provide manager Michael Ellison with valuable options as league leaders Linnets prepare for the final push in The Hallmark Security League Premier Division.

We welcome Joe, Dan and Andy to The Millbank and trust they will enjoy their time with us.
