Iwan is a protege of Calum McIntyre through our manager's association with Chester FC, having graduated to their first team from the successful Academy set-up.

The youngster was a contract player at The Swansway Chester Stadium and was still only 19 when he joined Runcorn in summer 2020. His skills have earned him the title "Magic Murray".

The diminutive attacking midfield playmaker had signed a new Chester deal having made a real impact in the 2018-19 campaign.

He chalked up 12 appearances in National League North that season, starting six games.

Iwan had joined the Blues from home team Denbigh Town, having previously served Rhyl at academy and senior levels.

Iwan enjoyed loan spells in the Northern Premier League Premier Division at Warrington Town and Atherton Collieries.

He made 20 senior appearances in all for Chester, scoring three goals.
