200 Club fundraiser will close after October draw - players should cancel Standing Orders once this month's payment has been made

Our long-running 200 Club fundraiser is to be discontinued and October's draw will be the last.

Participation in the scheme has dwindled to the point, where it is no longer viable.

The transient nature of the 200 Club's membership and the limitations of its payments system have made the draws very difficult to administer.

Most payments have traditionally been by Standing Order.

Under this system, the club is not informed when players withdraw and cease payment through their bank.

Our volunteer officials have been spending an increasing amount of time keeping track of payments without significant reward for the club in revenue terms.

Runcorn Football Supporters Club already has alternative fundraisers to help finance ground improvements, which was the original aim of the 200 Cub.

In thanking all 200 Club players, particularly those of long standing, we are encouraging support for these initiatives and instructing members of the draw to cancel Standing Orders once October payments have been taken.

The final 200 Club draw will be held at the end of the month.
