Carry on skipper! Jacques continues in caretaker role as Hanley visit
Captain Jacques Welsh continues as caretaker manager with a hope of going one better on Saturday's draw as Linnets go for victory against Hanley Town tonight at APEC Taxis Stadium.
Runcorn have gone five Pitching In Northern Premier League West games without a win since defeatimg Mossley 1-0 at Seel Park on September 19th.
We entertain a Hanley team lying fifth in the table after winning promotion back to Step 4 for this season as Midland League Premier Division champions.
The Stoke-on-Trent outfit's away record in the league is won two, drawn one and lost two.
They posted their best victory of the season so far by ending leaders Bootle's 10-game winning start to the campaign with a 1-0 triumph in the Potteries on Saturday.
Runcorn's 2-2 draw with Congleton Town saw us score twice for the first time since August 29th, when we overcame Isuzu FA Trophy First Round Qualifying opponents Stocksbridge Park Steels 2-1 in Sheffield.
We have drawn the last two at Murdishaw after two wins and two defeats in the four earlier home outings but stand-in boss Welsh was pleased with the response after manager Michael Ellison's midweek resignation.
