Club captain Jacques Welsh takes interim charge with manager search under way

With the hunt for a new manager under way, Runcorn Linnets players take up the challenge of climbing the Northern Premier League West table as Cheshire rivals Congleton Town visit APEC Taxis Stadium this Saturday.

Skippper Jacques Welsh took training last night and will be in charge of the team in the interim with the club seeking to appoint a successor to Michael Ellison as soon as possible.

The team will require 100% backing in the meantime as they try to reverse a run of form, which has brought only two victories in nine matches across all competitions.

A tough run of fixtures has seen us play seven of those games away.

Linnets now want to make the most of home advantage as we embark on three matches at APEC Taxis Stadium in eight days.

As always, fans can play a big part as we seek our first home win since August 25th against Lower Breck with one point to show from the two games at Murdishaw since then.
