Death of Linnets fan and volunteer Paul Rimmer

We are deeply sorry to announce that Runcorn supporter and volunteer Paul Rimmer has passed away aged 74, after a brave battle with cancer.

Although Paul had started watching Linnets relatively recently, he became a Trust member and a fully-committed fan.

He was a very popular member of our volunteer "Cleaning Crew", which before Covid times cleaned the dressing rooms and clubhouse after matches.

Paul was also a keen golfer, who played at Runcorn Golf Club with another of our stalwart fans Brian Ratcliffe.

Brian passed on to us the sad news that his best friend had died.

Paul also followed Liverpool FC, attending matches at Anfield with his brother, and prior to the pandemic and becoming ill, enjoyed cruise holidays.

We pass on our deepest sympathies and condolences to Paul's family and all his friends at this very distressing time.
