Linnets and Sports support charity ahead of cup-tie in St Clement's double header

Two Runcorn football clubs are to come together today to raise funds for charity before contesting a place in the Second Round of the North West Under 21s Development League Cup.

Fitstly, a Runcorn Linnets Supporters XI will be pitched against Runcorn Sports & Referees in memory of Darren Strain, who died earlier this year after battling cancer.

Daz was a passionate supporter and Trust member at Linnets and also well known both locally and across the region as a prominent match official.

The game, sponsored by APEC Taxis, is in aid of Halton Carers Centre and all players will be donating to the cause.

Kick off at St Clement's Primary School, Runcorn,is at 11am. Support is welcome.

In the afternoon, at the same venue, the U21s teams from Linnets and Sports will play their First Round tie in the NW U21s League Cup with a 2.30pm kick off.
