Linnets want to draw on improvement with a victory at Newcastle

Runcorn Linnets are looking to go the extra mile as a week of road trips continues with a visit to Staffordshire on Saturday,

Michael Ellison's side will aim reproduce the level of performance reached at Clitheroe in midweek but turn it into victory.

Unbeaten in three games but having drawn the last two, Runcorn face a Newcastle Town side which is smarting from consecutive defeats at Anstey Nomads in the FA Cup and in the league on Tuesday against visiting Stafford Rangers.

The start of September, however, saw Castle win three in succession, all on their travels.

Consecutive five-goal hauls at Padiham and Lichfield City saw Luca Whitney score a pair of hat-tricks.

Newcastle are 17th in the table with 10 points from eight games - only three having been at home where in the opening month they beat 1874 Northwich 1-0 and drew 1-1 with Chasetown.

Runcorn, in 12th place with 13 points from ten outings, have taken six points from five away games, the lone victory so far coming a fortnight ago at Mossley.
