On our travels again in search of a return to form

After successive league defeats for the first time since April 2025, Runcorn Linnets head up to Padiham tomorrow.

We last visited in March 2018, when a 1-1 draw edged us closer to the NWCL Premier Division title.

Michael Ellison doesn't expect to have any of his injured players back but the boss is calling for improvement following two disappointing displays.

Padiham return to the NPL after an 11-season absence. Their previous campaigns at this level were in 2013-14 and 2014-15.

The Storks secured their latest promotion as NWCL Premier Division Play-off winners.

They were beaten 4-0 at home by Shifnal Town on Saturday after a 1-1 draw in their midweek opener at Prescot Cables.
