Runcorn head to Mossley in search of first away win of NPL campaign

Runcorn Linnets seek to turn early-season fortunes around as we travel this Saturday to Mossley in Pitching In Northern Premier League West.

It's a familiar destination for Linnets fans, who will be pinning hopes on a first Seel Park win since November 2023 when goals from Lewis Doyle and Olly Molloy (2) saw us win 3-0.

That was our fourth victory in six on the Lilywhites ground, although the last two trips have seen a 0-2 defeat and last season a 0-0 draw, immediately after our FA Cup exit against Buxton.

There has been much soul searching following Tuesday's home defeat by Atherton Collieries and we'll be hunting our first away win of the league campaign.

Manager Michael Ellison is optimistic that a couple of injured players will be back to face a team, which (like ourselves) has eight points from seven games,

Results on Wednesday saw us drop to 14th in the table and Mossley to 15th so a close match is in prospect.
