Stadium falls silent for Southport

Fans joined management, staff and players of Runcorn Linnets and Crewe Alexandra along with the match officials in paying tribute to the victims of the Southport stabbings.

A minute's silence was observed before kick-off in last night's friendly after the laying of wreaths in the centre circle by our captain James Short and his Crewe counterpart Ryan Cooney.

The wreaths will be taken to Southport to add to the many floral tributes as we join Crewe in sending our deepest sympathy and condolences following Monday's tragic events.
