Tributes to departing goalkeeper coach Dave Piercy

Runcorn Linnets would like to say a massive thank you to First Team GK coach Dave Piercy, who is relocating to Japan.

He has been an integral part of the management team since joining the club this season and a huge contributor to the form of goalkeeper Bayleigh Passant and the development of Under 21s goalkeeper Alex Ellams.

Manager Brad Cooke said “Davey has been top drawer since we have come in, his commitment, professionalism and ability as a goalkeeper coach has been superb and he will be greatly missed. We wish him all the best and hope to see him at the APEC as and when he is back home”

Bayleigh Passant said: “Personally, I would like to thank Davey for helping me out this season; been brilliant to be around him and Alex but most importantly, he has helped me a lot.

"He gave me the confidence and the belief when I came back into the side after having time out and especially when I was close to leaving Davey pulled me aside and was reassuring me that If i work hard I’ll be back.

"He didn’t stop pushing me and I wish him nothing but the best - see ya soon mate for a bevy.”
