Linnets Ladies secure county cup final spot

Runcorn Linnets Ladies have made it through to the Cheshire FA Ladies Cup final after a 6-2 victory over Nantwich Town Women in this afternoon's home semi-final.

Linnets were 4-0 up at half-time thanks to goals from Lile Ashley, Chelsea Gillies, Emma McLarney and Beth Graham.

Nantwich made a game of it in the second half, pulling back a couple of goals before Runcorn responded decisively with Ellie Isherwood and Mollie Bennett on target.

The final will be against Stockport County Ladies, who as members of The Women's FA National League Division One North play two levels higher than Linnets.
