Following the great success of our first "Virtual Match" where fans have the opportunity to help the club in these difficult times by purchasing virtual attendances, pints, pies and other matchday items, we are happy to announce that our second Virtual Match will take place on Saturday 11 April against Dunston.

To help break the boredom of these long football-free days, one of our vice-presidents (and former club chairman) Derek Greenwood is posting some reminders of Linnets days gone by in the Historical Archive.


Derek is the guardian of the Historical and Programme Archives on the website and author of the booklet "Once a Linnet...", published in 2018 to commemorate the first 100 years of Linnets football in our town.

The intention with this feature is through photos and other memorabilia to jog (and at times test) your memory of matters relating to original and present club.

Derek will add new items over the coming days and weeks.

We've simply called this new section "Memories" and are
sure this will rekindle many happy ones!

We will be continuing our Linnets 200 Club draw during this period of inactivity.

It's a vital source of income for the football club and, of course, we want to give our supporters some cheer by offering the usual great cash prizes!

Players are, therefore, asked to keep their standing orders open.

Subscriptions from those paying regularly by cash will be reconciled once everyday restrictions are lifted.

We are making arrangements for the March draw for w/c Monday 30th.

This will be broadcast live on our official twitter site and details will be confirmed on our website and social media feeds once we know the date and time.
