Welcome

Welcome to the official website of Runcorn Linnets FC.

We are members of the BetVictor Northern Premier League and were placed in Division One North/West for 2019-20 after the league's Step 4 boundaries were changed. We gained promotion to the League for 2018-19 as Premier Division champions of the Hallmark Security League (North West Counties Football League) on our 12th Birthday (28th April 2018) by securing the minimum of a second place finish in the Hallmark Security League's top flight. We went on to finish four points clear.

We are a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 and were formed in the 2006 off-season by the fans of the now defunct Runcorn FC (which was playing under the name "Runcorn FC Halton" at the time). Although when we formed we were technically a "new" club, the Linnets were given special dispensation by the FA to be treated as a reformed version of Runcorn FC - the special dispensation was necessary as the old club had simply become dormant, choosing not to field a team, as opposed to ceasing to exist as a legal entity. We were awarded FA Charter Standard in October 2011.

Festive cheer at Runcorn Christmas Beer Festival, The Millbank Linnets Stadium, Friday December 13th

Runcorn Christmas Beer Festival 2019 will take place on Friday, December 13th at The Millbank Linnets Stadium, 7.30pm start.

The acts are booked, the beers, gins and ciders have been selected and the decorations are being readied.

There is live entertainment by Summer Beer Fest favourite (and regular Linnets fan) Grace Mantova, fellow vocalist Molly McVey and indie rock band Hyena.

Entrance will be by donation to the Foodbank; warm clothing, blankets or toiletries for the homeless or a cash donation to buy items for these good causes.

This is the second festive festival - again it's a joint venture between Runcorn Linnets and Runcorn beer blogger Kirsty Walker (www.ladysinksthebooze.wordpress.com) - and follows on from two successful summer festivals.

The Christmas event is a week later than in 2018 because of our football commitments.

We'll be concentrating this time on craft beers, although there will be some on draught.

Chapter Brewery, producers of our very own Linnets Ale will again be on board and we'll have five different offerings from Bowland Brewery, sponsors of the Northern Premier League Player of the Month awards.

Beer, gin, music and food. What's not to love? (Oh yes... there will be Prosecco on sale too!)
