Midfielder Jacques Welsh has given new Linnets boss Antony Kay a massive boost by committing for the new season.

Jacques's decision to stay with the club will be seen as a big vote of confidence in the new regime as the defensive midfielder is not short of admirers.

He is a player who makes Linnets tick and boasts a strong all-round game.

Since rejoining us from Bootle for the start of last season, Jacques has only enhanced his reputation as one of the Northern Premier League West's top players in his position.

He appeared 46 times last season, taking his Linnets career total into three figures.
