Linnets seek clearance for new signing Karl Clair

Runcorn Linnets have completed the signing of midfielder Karl Clair from JD Cymru North club Llandudno subject to international clearance.

Having most recently plied his trade on the Welsh coast, also having also had a spell as player-manager of Prestatyn Town, 31-year-old Karl brings a wealth of experience in the English game.

The Anfield-born player came through the ranks at Liverpool FC, serving the Reds at Under 18, U21s and reserve team levels.

He played in the 2009 FA Youth Cup Final, in which Liverpool lost over two legs to Arsenal.

But his burgeoning career was blighted by a serious knee injury.

Karl has since worn the colours of Vauxhall Motors, Marine, Loughborough University Nike Academy, City of Liverpool (where he was a 2018-19 NWCL Premier Division title winner in the first of two stints), Lower Breck, Litherland REMYCA and Skelmersdale.

He is also a UEFA B coach and joins Linnets after appearing late in pre-season.

Welcome to the APEC, Karl!
