Runners-up in the last two Play-off finals, Runcorn Linnets' promotion hopes are over for another year after losing 2-0 at home to City of Liverpool.
Linnets never found any kind of rhythm in a sold-out semi final until late in the game.
CoL had by then taken charge with two goals from Elliot Morris, in the 38th and 64th minutes.
The Purps ran out deserving winners and will now contest the final this Saturday, leaving Runcorn to regroup over the summer.
