Rare Sunday runout for Linnets first team

Our first team heads back to Sheffield this weekend for a rare Sunday outing.
The trip to Hallam will be our 985th match but only the fifth to be played on the Sabbath.
Our last Sunday appearance was on November 2nd 2014 when we lost 4-1 at Shaw Lane Aquaforce in the FA Cup (our 434th game).
The first had been in match 87 on Sunday August 17th 2008, when we defeated Rossington Main 3-2 in the FA Cup, this being the first of two Sunday fixtures at our initial home Wincham Park.
The second followed on September 21st of the same year as Linnets defeated Bacup Borough 4-0 in the FA Vase.
We also played a Sunday tie in the FA Cup against AFC Liverpool at Prescot on August 21st 2011. It was drawn 2-2 but we went on to win the replay.
Hallam have endured a tough start to the season with two points to show from their first seven games in Northern Premier League East and a first-time exit at home to North West Counties League side Irlam in the FA Cup.
However, they won on penalties after a 3-3 draw versus Mossley in the previous round of the Trophy, the match having been reversed to their opponents' ground.
We will be returning to the steel city just over a fortnight since defeating Hallam's neighbours and league rivals Stocksbridge Park Steels 2-1 in the same competition.
Sandygate has been Hallam's home since 1860, making it the world's oldest football ground.
