Shorty reaches landmark

Our first away game of the Pitching In Northern Premier League West season - the victory at City of Liverpool - brought James Short's 100th appearance in a Runcorn Linnets shirt.

The Linnets captain had been made to wait a little longer than anticipated to complete the landmark, after sitting out the opening game against Chasetown through injury.

Ahead of Tuesday's 1-1 home draw with Newcastle Town, club vice-chairman/treasurer Jeff Jago presented the left back with a trophy to recognise his achievement.

Congratulations, Shorty!
