Welcome to the official website of Runcorn Linnets FC.

We are a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 and were formed in the 2006 off-season by the fans of the now defunct Runcorn FC (which was playing under the name "Runcorn FC Halton" at the time). Although when we formed we were technically a "new" club, the Linnets were given special dispensation by the FA to be treated as a reformed version of Runcorn FC - the special dispensation was necessary as the old club had simply become dormant, choosing not to field a team, as opposed to ceasing to exist as a legal entity.

We currently play in the North West Counties Football League, and were awarded Charter Standard in October 2011.

Further warm-up game arranged - at Northwich Manchester Villa

Runcorn Linnets have arranged another pre-season friendly - at he renamed NWC Division One club Northwich Manchester Villa (formerly Northwich Flixton Villa) who have now switched ground to Manchester Regional Arena, Rowsley Street, Manchester, M11 3FF. The game is on Friday, July 17 with a 7.30pm kick off.

FA knockout competition draws to be revealed

The Football Association's competitions department has announced that draws for the early rounds of its cup competitions (as well as details of exemptions and a list of accepted clubs) should be published on by 1pm on Friday July 3. Details of pairings involving ourselves will be relayed through this website and our social media sites as soon as possible.

Archive updated with further photos from 1970s, '80s and '90s

The final set of photos from Dave Rose's collection have now been added to the historical archive. These feature in the 1970s section early photos of Canal Street. In the 1980s, there are some excellent action photos against teams such as Boston Utd, Kettering and Altrincham recalling the days of Joel, Imrie, Smith and Crompton and including Smith's goal at Kettering in the FA Trophy semi-final. The 1990s includes shots of Joe Connor, Karl Thomas, Gary Brabin and John Carroll. Thanks again to Dave for the excellent range of photos he has provided over recent months

Supporters Club prepares for Annual General Meeting

Runcorn Football Supporters Club's Annual General Meeting will be held at the Union Tavern on Wednesday 22nd July 2015, commencing at 7.30pm. Nominations for the Committee must reach the Secretary, Mrs S Bell, 18 Croasdale Drive, Beechwood, Runcorn, WA7 2RJ, by Wednesday 8th July 2015.

Replacement friendly opener for Runcorn Linnets

Runcorn Linnets first team will now kick off pre-season with a warm-up game at Greenalls Padgate St Oswalds of the Cheshire League on Saturday, July 11.

The game will be played at the Warrington Campus of Chester University in Crab Lane, WA2 ODB (ko 2pm).

The Linnets were originally expecting to play at Vauxhall Motors on the same date before being told the West Cheshire League club's ground in Ellesmere Port would not be ready in time.

Sponsor a pitch perimeter fence panel for £35

Over the summer months we are looking to infill the four corners of the pitch perimeter fence with the green infill board we have trialled over the last 12 months.

We would like to offer these out for sponsorship at a cost of £35 per six-foot section, which will consist of two boards with a small plaque on the outside with the sponsors name.

Please contact the club through the Contact Us page if you would like to consider this. Normal advertising boards are still available for the remainder of the pitch.

Match day admission and season tickets 2015-16

The Trust Board of Runcorn Linnets FC at its May meeting earlier this week set first-team admission prices for the 2015-16 campaign along with the cost of season tickets.

Adult admission will be £6. This represents the first increase since the club re-formed in 2006 – the £5 charge implemented upon the Linnets' return to Runcorn in 2010 and maintained for the last five seasons being 50p less than the price supporters paid during the club's tenancy at Witton Albion FC.

Club chairman Derek Greenwood said: "The board has endeavoured to hold down the admission prices for as long as possible but fans will appreciate that running costs and particularly our utility bills have increased considerably over the last nine years.

"The new admission price brings us into line with a number of other clubs in the North West Counties League.

"We are sure our loyal fans will agree that attending games at the Millbank Linnets Stadium will continue to represent tremendous value for money thanks to the excellent standard of football the team has produced and maintained under Joey Dunn's management and also the high quality of facilities we offer."

Concessionary admission will remain at £3. This is applicable to those supporters aged 65 and over, 17-18 year olds and to students in full-time education on production of a student card.

We will continue to offer free entry to accompanied Under 16s while anyone holding a Halton Leisure Card will still receive a £2 discount on the full (adult) admission price.

As a result of the price increase, adult season tickets to cover all home league games will cost £102. Season-ticket holders will, however, now receive four free matches instead of the customary three.

The cost of a concessionary season ticket is unchanged at £54.

To help spread the costs for fans, half-season tickets are available at £51 (adults) and £27 (concessions). These cover the first 11 or second 10 league games at the MLS.

Supporters can apply for a season ticket (or half-season ticket) by sending a cheque for the correct amount, payable to "Runcorn Linnets FC", along with a self-addressed envelope to:
