Welcome

Welcome to the official website of Runcorn Linnets FC.

We are a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 and were formed in the 2006 off-season by the fans of the now defunct Runcorn FC (which was playing under the name "Runcorn FC Halton" at the time). Although when we formed we were technically a "new" club, the Linnets were given special dispensation by the FA to be treated as a reformed version of Runcorn FC - the special dispensation was necessary as the old club had simply become dormant, choosing not to field a team, as opposed to ceasing to exist as a legal entity.

We currently play in the North West Counties Football League, and were awarded Charter Standard in October 2011.

AGM of Runcorn Linnets FC Ltd

The Annual General Meeting of Runcorn Linnets Football Club Limited will take place on Thursday, December 4th 2014 at the Millbank Linnets Stadium, Murdishaw Avenue, Runcorn, WA7 6HP at 7.00pm.

The meeting will include Chairman's Report and presentation of accounts for 2013-14.

Non-members can attend the AGM as observers, but will not be able to actively participate in the meeting.

The AGM will be conducted in accordance with club rules - these can be viewed in the Information section of the club website and give details of how members can present resolutions for consideration at a general meeting.

After the AGM, there will be an informal question & answer session with club manager Joey Dunn.

Our Under 18s side once again did manager Andy Hill proud today by winning 3-2 at Hyde Egerton Academy in the North West Youth Alliance's Division Two Cup quarter-final. The team is next in action on Sunday, November 23rd when Abbey Hey Youth are the visitors.

Runcorn beat St Helens Town in the North West Counties Premier League at The Millbank Linnets Stadium with a score of 1-0. Kev Towey sent off in 44th minute. Kyle Hamid put the Linnets ahead in the 81st minute with a shot that went under the 'keeper from inside the 6 yard box.

Runcorn beat Congleton Town in the North West Counties Premier League at The Millbank Linnets Stadium with a score of 4-3. Kevin Towey put the Linnets ahead with a well placed shot from inside the area in the 9th minute. Matty Atherton increased the Linnets' lead with a fantastic strike from inside the area in the 23rd minute. Congleton Town closed the gap in the 28th minute. Chris Lomax increased the Linnets' lead in the 75th minute with a cheeky tap from inside the 6 yard box. Congleton Town closed the gap in the 82nd minute. Congleton Town equalised in the 89th minute. Mark Houghton put the Linnets ahead with a fantastic strike from inside the 6 yard box in the 90th minute.
