Linnets strike deal wth Chester for Oskar Rosenblatt loan

ree

Runcorn Linnets are delighted to welcome Oskar Rosenblatt after signing the teenage forward on a three-month loan from Chester.

Fans may well remember Oskar from his impressive performance against us in pre-season, when he scored the Seals' opening goal in their 2-1 win at APEC Taxis Stadium.

Oskar signed his first senior contract at the Deva in April in the week of his 18th birthday,

putting pen to paper until the end of this season.

But he had already played first-team football, making his debut this time last year in the FA Cup against Hebburn Town.

Oskar had joined the Blues as a scholar in 2023 from Fleetwood Town and has been a part of matchday squads from the age of 16.

Having consistently impressed within the Academy set-up, his first senior goal came last summer in victory ar the Isle of Man Festival of Football against Lancaster City.

Linnets have been fortunate to have loaned several Chester players both during and since Calum McIntyre's time as our manager.

We are grateful to Calum and his staff for facilitating this arrangement.

After handing Oskar his first senior deal earlier in the year Calum said:

“Oskar has obviously been included in a number of First Team squads this season and is someone that has earned the respect of the players and staff alike. I look forward to seeing how he progresses in this next stage of his development.”

Chesrer's Academy Head Coach and First Team Coach Mike Allcock, who was also a member of Calum's backroom at Runcorn Linnets, said at the time:

"Since joining us from Fleetwood two years ago, Oskar has been a fantastic addition to the club.

"His attitude, dedication to his development, and commitment to Chester FC have been exemplary from day one.

“As a forward, Oskar combines power and pace with a strong tactical awareness. His ability to deliver quality from set pieces, along with his threat from open play crosses, makes him a valuable asset on the pitch.

“Over the past 12 months, Oskar has been training regularly with the senior squad, where he has built strong relationships with both the staff and his team mates.

"His professionalism and willingness to learn have stood out throughout.

“It has been a real pleasure working with Oskar during his time here. He is a fantastic young man with a bright future in the game."

Oskar made three substitute appearances in National League North in 2024-25 and was on the bench on nine other occasions.

Already this season he has come on twice, at Chorley and South Shields, while being in Chester's squad at home to Curzon Ashton and Oxford City.

He is eligible for our Isuzu FA Trophy home tie against Garforth Town tomorrow and available to us in the Emirates FA Cup.

Linnets manager Brad Cooke said: "We have a great relationship with Chester.

"Me and Callum speak regularly and he offered the opportunity to sign Oskar. He is very highly rated and been in a number of squads this season, making appearances in the National North.

"Obviously with our current situation, losing Adam Moseley and Wally (Luke Wall) for the foreseeable, we needed to bring in replacements.

"We saw Oskar's quality when he scored against us in pre-season. He will bring pace, quality and hopefully goals to the forward line.

"I look forward to working with him and thank Callum and Chester for their trust."
