Runcorn Linnets Ladies took the plaudits after a satisfactory season in transition.

The team finished fourth in Division One South of North West Women's Regional League, narrowly missing out on third place on goal difference.

This has been a campaign of change under a fresh managerial team with a new-look squad in which young players have taken their chance to shine.

One constant, however, has been Chelsea Gillies, who received a Special Recognition Award at Friday's Presentation Night.

The evergreen midfielder, one of the team's longest servants, appeared in every match in 2024-25 and didn't even miss a training session.

Another showstopping performer over the campaign - 'keeper Alex Belfield - completed an awards hat-trick of Supporters' and Players' Player of the Year plus the Captain's Award from skipper Emma Mclarney.

Central defender Emma was herself presented with the Coach's PoY award.

Alex shared the Players' award with Mollie Bennett, who was also leading goal scorer.

Elsewhere, the managers' awards went to Molly Hewitt and Jess Bazley - choices of joint bosses Tom Dyson and Jack Slater, respectively.

The Young Player Award went to Erin Roberts, definitely a star of the present as well as for the future.
