Club condemns use of pyrotechnics

ree

Another excellent performance on the field by Runcorn Linnets has again been tarnished by senseless acts involving a small minority of our supporters.

Following instances at our last two games of pyrotechnics being released - inside an opposition ground and now within our own stadium - we again remind fans of their obligation to behave responsibly and within the law when attending matches.

FA regulations have recently been modified with referees now being required to officially report any such incidents, even if the offending objects are not thrown on to the pitch.

Any breach could result in the club being sanctioned.

It is extremely disappointing and frustrating when the club is fined for such actions by supporters when we work so hard to raise funds to support our activities and to ensure that attending matches is a safe and pleasurable experience for all.

Fans acting in this way are bringing the club into disrepute.

Anyone found to have set off a smoke bomb or flare will receive an automatic, indefinite ban from Runcorn Linnets matches.

Already, disciplinary action has recently been taken against five supporters, including bans and suspensions, for their behaviour and we will not hesitate to take further action to preserve the reputation of the club.

This is in line with our Supporter Behaviour and Conduct Policy.

Any fans who misbehave by breaching these regulations should be in no doubt that this will be strictly enforced.

It should be stressed that we have nothing but respect and gratitude for 99% of our fantastic fanbase, who follow the team loyally and fervently home and away.

We will not allow their enjoyment be spoiled by the few, who are seemingly intent on flouting the rules without heed of the consequences.
