Trust Board election result

By Dave Bettley, Trust secretary

There are two new directors at Runcorn Linnets after the annual Trust Board elections, the result being announced at last night's club Annual General Meeting.

Local businessman and club supporter Ian Green and Linnets volunteer Paul Tandy claimed two of the six available places, which were contested by eight candidates.

This is a second time on the board for Paul.

Club chairman Peter Cartledge, general manager Bren Connolly, commercial manager Paul Riley and programme editor/media team member Jack Walsh were all re-elected.

All six successful candidates will serve for two years.

Fan Simon Ashall and former club chairman Dave Jones both missed out this time.

The club's other elected Board members Ste Bignall (Trust communications manager), Josh Christian (community manager), Jeff Jago (vice-chairman/treasurer), club president Alan Jones (shop manager), Tracy Measor (fundraising manager) and Sam Phillips (media manager) are midway through their terms of office.

As co-opted directors, the board memberships of Paul Eastup (club secretary) and Nick Woods (junior liaison) are due for annual review in January.

Thanks to all election candidates, Trust members for voting and John and Maggie Coats of 1874 Northwich FC for their independent adjudication.

The result of the election was as follows:

Simon Ashall 23 votes; Peter Cartledge 105; Bren Connolly 106; Ian Green 83; Dave Jones 41; Paul Riley 100; Paul Tandy 92; Jack Walsh 72.
